Convalescent plasma, an experimental COVID-19 treatment under emergency Investigational New Drug (IND) exemption from the FDA, is gaining popularity throughout the United States and around the world.

This therapy involves collection of blood plasma from recovered COVID-19 patients for use in those currently sickened with the virus. Like all blood products, this plasma must pass the FDA’s stringent donation guidelines and testing regimen before it can be used in a patient.

Supporting Convalescent Plasma

Drucker Diagnostics is proud to support hospitals and plasma centers in creating and using convalescent plasma. Blood typing is a vital part of the preparation process for both the donor and the patient. Our state of the art serology centrifuge, the Drucker SERO 12, is a drop-in replacement for the discontinued BD Sero-Fuge™. To minimize disruption during this hectic time, the SERO 12 uses the exact same rotor and accessories as the Sero-Fuge, so existing serology processes can remain unchanged. The SERO 12 is a blood banking centrifuge that offers all the best features of the Sero-Fuge – and all crucial functions for your current workflow – with a few key upgrades. The digital display and user-friendly interface make programming for your lab’s needs simple and fast. Set time in 5 or 15 second increments, and save up to 10 fully custom cycles to easily validate and spin.

Designed, built, and supported in the USA, the SERO-12 is ready to ship today with no delays to support the urgent convalescent plasma need.

Total rotor compatibility

The SERO 12 uses Sero-Fuge rotors and accessories, and can spin any existing Sero-Fuge rotor. Each unit arrives ready-to-run with the standard 12-place swing-out rotor (pictured left) included in the affordable price.
